The Craft and Hobby Association's (CHA) Summer Show's theme was Craft Fusion. Sticking with the theme, Cloth Paper Scissors Magazine hosted a mixed media dress contest: The Crafty Couture Contest. CHA attendees voted on the eighteen dresses and Julie's "Art Journaling Dress" won "Fan Favorite" by a landslide. The dress and five "Judge's Picks" will be featured in an upcoming issue of Cloth Paper Scissors.

Speaking of Cloth Paper Scissors, Julie will begin writing a regular column for the magazine starting in January 2012. Other upcoming publications include artwork and articles in Pages Magazine, Collage in Color e-mag, Better Homes and Gardens' Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine, Quilt Scene Magazine, May Flaum's book Scrapbook Workshop, and the art journaling book Journal It from Quarry Press. There will be a profile of Julie in the German publication Scrap Art Zine this Fall.
